Brake Caliper Rebuilding - you can do it!

Other notes:
For each front caliper you need one (1) Rebuild Kit P/N 109000  (total of two per car)
There are four front pistons, replace as needed with P/N 109001
For each rear caliper you need one (1) Rebuild Kit P/N 109006 (total of two per car)
There are four rear pistons, replace as needed with P/N 109007

If the calipers are excessively rusty or discolored, you can have them media blasted and then paint them or have them plated. Some DMC Dealers offer mail-in plating service at reasonable cost. Be sure to inspect small internal passages for blockages after blasting.

A good way to quickly clean up the pistons to inspect for pitting is to use a bench grinder equipped with a wire wheel.

We strongly recommend replacing the Brake Master Cylinder P/N 105543 and the four Flexible Hoses (Front P/N 100459) and (Rear P/N 100460) (Kit of 4 P/N K100459) (also available in Braided Stainless  P/N GT100459)  at the same time as you rebuild the calipers. Typically if the calipers need rebuilding as shown in the video, the brake hoses are plugged and the master cylinder will fail as soon as fresh fluid is flushed through it.
